Rebecca Vieker, Violin & Viola

Rebecca Vieker is an active performer and teacher in the Boston area. Born in Detroit, she started violin lessons when she was four years old and began studying viola at the age of 16. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln followed by a Master in Music from Boston University, with an emphasis in Viola Performance. During her education, she has taught and performed extensively throughout the country performing with such groups as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the Lincoln Symphony and other regional ensembles. During her time in the Midwest, she cofounded Star City Strings, a professional music ensemble and teaching studio in Lincoln, Nebraska. Rebecca is a passionate teacher and has experience teaching all ages and skill levels. She is currently pursuing a Performance Diploma at Boston University under Michelle LaCourse. When she’s not playing or teaching music, Rebecca enjoys teaching volleyball classes at BU, frolicking with her poodle puppy and cooking with her husband.
